A Call To Action To Extend Chiropractic Benefits

By admin | Sep 23, 2009

U.S. Rep. Mike Rogers, R-Ala., has introduced legislation that would extend chiropractic health benefits to U.S. military retirees, dependents and survivors. According to the president of the ACA (American Chiropractic Association), “Life as we know it is a direct result of the service and sacrifices of our veterans, soldiers and their families. Behind every member of the armed forces is a family who deserves to be taken care of, and it is unjust to provide them with anything but the very best health care available”, “Families and retirees will benefit from the safe, effective care that only chiropractic can provide.”

A similar bill was introduced last year during the 108th Congressional session. However, the bill was not signed into law by the end of the Congressional session, and thus a new bill must be reintroduced. After introduction, support must be garnered and another set of co-sponsors must sign on to both a House and a Senate bill before it can be signed into law. As part of this effort, the ACA is asking Americans to take action by calling their representatives in the U.S. House and urging them to join as original co-sponsors of the legislation. Representatives can be reached by calling the U.S. Capitol switchboard at               (202) 225-3121         (202) 225-3121.
